Recap: Solutions-Focused Book Event (and an upcoming book club!)

So, it might go without saying… but this gnome had an amazing time at our Solutions-Focused Book & Beer pairing/hiding event on Thursday, May 4th, at Borderlands Brewing Company! May the fourth be with you… on building community solutions! 🙂 This event was hosted in partnership with Caitlin Schmidt, solutions journalist with the Arizona Daily Star and Adjunct Instructor of Journalism at the University of Arizona (who bought 48 books for the event!). Our friends from #ThisIsTucson were also there to discuss and share their work.

We hid 48 books, a mixture of fiction and non-fiction – all focused on how people can work together to build community and solve problems more effectively together! You can see the beautiful book stack below:

We also had our book-sharing table – – – and it was a very active sharing night! So, here’s a huge thanks to all of you who brought your gently used (well-loved!) books to pass along to someone new – and perhaps you also found a new book to enjoy? ❤

All in all, it was an amazing night, and we were so happy to see all of your smiling faces! Did you come? Did you find a book?

If you missed attending this event, fear not! As a follow-up to this event, we are launching a “Solutions-Focused Community Book Club” hosted by the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona. If you’re a reader who cares about building a vibrant and equitable community in Southern Arizona, then this book club is for you! We’ll be reading I Never Thought of It That Way by Monica Guzman and meeting on June 22 from 5:30-7pm. The details are included below, and you can register HERE if you’re interested in joining us!

We hope you’ll join us in June! Here’s to books, kindness, and building community!
