Happy 50th book giveaway! Our book giveaways are solidly middle-aged at this point, LOL. We had an amazing time hiding 30 copies of MY LIPS, HER VOICE by local Tucson author L.L. Madrid last Sunday. If you like books that include horror/mystery/thriller elements, sapphic rep, multiple POVs, dual timelines, paranormal aspects (including possession, ghosts, and hypnotism), and family secrets – – – then you should add this one to your list!
If you’re new here and didn’t get a chance to find a book on book-hiding day, some of our amazing guest gnomes are hiding an additional 15 books (on top of the 30) around Tucson over the next few weeks. So keep your eyes peeled, as 15 more copies of MY LIPS, HER VOICE are being hidden around town! We do not post any hint photos of these books, as they are truly meant to be a random act of kindness for those who happen upon them. Yay for random bookish joy and delight!
AND, we can’t forget to thank (and give a big shoutout!) to our October Community Kindness Sponsor, the Yeet That Teet (perfect timing for Breast Cancer Awareness Month!)! We are so grateful to them for helping to offset the cost of the extra 15 books we hid this month. So please give them a follow and support their work ❤
AND A QUICK UPDATE: We have launched our fundraiser for hiding books in 2026! Although our Community Kindness Sponsorships ($250) provide critical monthly support to help offset the cost of the extra 15 books we hide every month, they do not cover all our expenses for books and supplies (and other fun, non-exciting but necessary things like business insurance, LOL). So, if you are feeling generous and want to see the Tome Gnome keep running bookish scavenger hunts in 2026, please consider donating to our GoFundMe!
In November, we will be celebrating Native American Heritage Month, and we have a very fun, timely collaboration in the works with Humane Borders (which actually kicks off this weekend!)… So keep an eye out here, on Instagram, and on our Facebook page for updates on our next book-hiding adventure(s)!

Hi There Trome Gnome!
I love reading of your give aways and such that you do and that fact that you promote local authors!
I think you need to look up and read as well as offer some of the books by my friend Suze Shoemaker or as she goes by as a pseudonym S.D. Shue. She went to U of A and runs a business here in Casa Grande and started a series of books and is on her second series now! They are about overcoming adversity and learning to help yourself so you can help others out as well… I know you would like them as well as all our other readers and followers!
