Happy New Year, and 51st & 52nd Tome Giveaways

Happy (belated!) 51st & 52nd book giveaways! AND HAPPY NEW YEAR! We’ve been remiss in sharing our book-hiding roundups these past two months since both book-hiding adventures happened on weekends just before major holidays 🙂 Through November & December, we had an amazing time hiding 90 (combined total!) copies of Sisters of the Lost Nation by Nick Medina and The Keeper of Magical Things by Julie Leong. 60 copies were hidden “scavenger hunt style,” and 30 extra copies were hidden by our guest gnomes as “random act of kindness” books for the folks who find them! 🙂

AND, we can’t forget to thank (and give a big shoutout!) to our November and December Community Kindness Sponsors, PHX Oasis Press (November) and Stacks Book Club (December). We are grateful to them for helping to offset the cost of the additional 30 books we hid each month. So please give each of them a follow and support their work ❤

AND A QUICK UPDATE: Earlier this fall, we launched our fundraiser for hiding books in 2026! Although our Community Kindness Sponsorships ($250) provide critical monthly support to help offset the cost of the extra 20 books we hide every month, they do not cover all our expenses for books and supplies (and other fun, non-exciting but necessary things like business insurance, LOL). So, if you are feeling generous and want to see the Tome Gnome keep running bookish scavenger hunts in 2026, please consider donating to our GoFundMe!

This month (January!), we will be starting to highlight some of the fantastic authors who will be joining us at the Tucson Festival of Books in March! So keep an eye out here, on Instagram, and on our Facebook page for updates on our next book-hiding adventure(s)!
