What we’re proud of this week: Candid Platinum Seal of Transparency!

We have some exciting news! Tucson Tome Gnome has recently been recognized by Candid with the Platinum Seal of Transparency, the highest level of recognition offered by Candid for nonprofit organizations based on their transparency and accountability. It signifies that an organization (like ours!) has shared significant information with the public, including details about its goals, strategies, capabilities, achievements, and progress indicators. Organizations receiving this seal are considered among the most transparent in the nonprofit sector. Yay for us! Check out our cute little Platinum Seal:

If you’re unfamiliar with Candid, they are a nonprofit organization that provides the most comprehensive data and insights about the social sector:

“Every year, millions of nonprofits spend trillions of dollars around the world. We find out where that money comes from, where it goes, and why it matters. Through research, collaboration, and training, Candid connects people who want to change the world to the resources they need to do it.

Candid envisions a social sector capable of tackling the critical challenges and opportunities of our time. Building for this future, Candid provides information in Foundation Directory that helps nonprofits find funders to support their work. Conversely, funders look to GuideStar to verify and research nonprofits that are aligned with their priorities.”

As a very small nonprofit with no paid staff, we are really proud to have achieved this recognition from the industry leader in nonprofit accountability. So, please join us in raising a glass to the Tome Gnome. We’re proud of how we run our organization and hope that this continues to instill confidence that we aren’t going anywhere, that we’re committed to our mission, and that we’re remaining transparent about what we do!
