44th Tome Giveaway (just a little delayed!)

Happy 44th book giveaway (which we, uh, did on April 13 – – – we’re only a few weeks delayed in sharing this recap, LOL). To celebrate National Poetry Month, we hid 30 copies of Promises of Gold by José Olivarez. This book was the perfect read for April – it’s a beautiful volume of accessible poems written in both English and Spanish, perfect for sharing with our multicultural borderlands region.

If you’re new here and didn’t get a chance to find a book on book-hiding day, some of our amazing guest gnomes hid an additional 15 books (on top of the 30) around Tucson over the past few weeks. So hopefully you were keeping your eyes peeled, as 15 more copies of Promises of Gold were hidden around town! We do not post any hint photos of these books, as they are truly meant to be a random act of kindness for those who happen upon them. Yay for random bookish joy and delight!

AND, we can’t forget to thank (and give a big shoutout!) to our April Community Kindness Sponsor, The UA Poetry Center. We are so grateful to them for helping to offset the cost of the extra 15 books we hid in April ❤

Like all of our book selections so far this year, May’s selection will be topical and appropriate for the changing times. It also happens to feature a local author writing about our community in some really moving and beautiful ways (hint, hint!). So keep an eye out here, on Instagram, and on our Facebook page for updates on our next book-hiding adventure!
