Can you all believe that 2024 is almost over? 2025 is coming quickly, and we are feeling hopeful (but also realistic…) about what the new year might bring. After the election in November, we published this post, reaffirming that we are here, we aren’t planning on going anywhere, and we will continue to support and uplift those stories and voices that most need it.
Sharing stories matters. Expanding perspectives through reading about people with lived experiences different from our own matters. Building a community rooted in kindness matters. Having fun matters! BOOK JOY FOR ADULTS MATTERS! (We’re not yelling, we’re just passionate haha).

We’re not going anywhere, and we hope you’ll stick with us. Now more than ever, we hope you all will lean into your people and lean into this bookish community. We will all need each other – we can’t get through these next few years alone.
Do you want to help us continue to ensure that a variety of books are accessible to folks in our community through our random-act-of-kindness book-hiding and book-sharing efforts in 2025? Please consider making a donation to our 2025 fundraiser to ensure that this important work can continue:
We launched our 2025 fundraiser in September (our three-year tome gnome-iversary), and we’ve been making progress on meeting our $10K goal slowly but surely (we’re nearly 60% to goal!). We had a really nice boost on Giving Tuesday – so thank you to all who donated that day (and all the days leading up to it and since then!).
One thing we haven’t talked a lot about is that we’ll be doing a raffle once we meet our goal! Anyone who donates $100 or more to our 2025 fundraiser will be entered to win a Tome Gnome tote bag filled with bookish goodies, including some signed copies of books from one of the Tome Gnome’s founding board members (cough cough TJ Klune) 😉 We will be raffling off three bags of goodies, so your chances of winning one are currently pretty high, haha.
So, as the end of 2024 approaches, will you help make our new year bright and support our fundraiser? Our bookish community (including us!) will be forever grateful for your support and generosity ❤
