40th Tome Giveaway

Before we jump into sharing an update on last weekend’s pre-Christmas/pre-Holiday book-hiding adventure, we’re here to remind you that we’re currently raising money to fund book-hiding in 2025 – and we need your help! We would be forever grateful if you’re willing to help us meet our $10K goal for 2025 ❤ Fundraising has been slower this year than in past years, so all gifts of any amount make a huge difference to our little bookish nonprofit. Thank you!!! Now onward to the book-hiding wrap up:

Happy 40th book giveaway! The big 4-0. Are the book-hiding adventures middle-aged??? Almost… 😂 To celebrate the holiday season, last weekend, I hid 30 copies of Black Cake by Charmaine Wilkerson. This book was the perfect read for December, which is often the season of cooking, family traditions (and sometimes tackling challenging family dynamics), and setting intentions for how we might cook up new lives (second chances? third chances?) for ourselves in the year to come.

If you’re new here and didn’t get a chance to find a book last Sunday, some of our amazing guest gnomes will be hiding an additional 15 books of this month’s selection (on top of the 30) around Tucson over the next week or two. So keep your eyes peeled, as 15 more copies of Black Cake will be hidden around town! I do not post any hint photos of these books, as they are truly meant to be a random act of kindness for those who happen upon them. Yay for random bookish joy and delight!

Our selection In January will be topical and appropriate for the changing times… (have we piqued your interest?). So keep an eye out here, on Instagram, and on our Facebook page for updates. Sending you all love, hugs, and well-wishes for the new year ❤
