Thirty-Ninth Tome Giveaway

Before we jump into sharing an update on last weekend’s book-hiding adventure, we’re here to remind you that we’re currently raising money to fund book-hiding in 2025 – and we need your help! We would be forever grateful if you’re willing to help us meet our $10K goal for 2025 ❤ Fundraising has been going slower this year than in past years, so all gifts of any amount make a huge difference to our little bookish nonprofit. Happy 39th book giveaway! To celebrate my favorite season (fall – there’s FINALLY a chill in the air!), last weekend I hid 30 copies of Never Whistle at Night, an Indigenous (dark fiction) short story collection edited by Shane Hawk and Theodore C. Van Alst Jr. This was the perfect book to recognize Native American Heritage Month – we hope you enjoy this collection (and explore the longer works of many of the other authors featured in the book!) ❤

If you’re new here and didn’t get a chance to find a book last Sunday, some of our amazing guest gnomes (shout-out to Caitlin, Erika, and Cynthia!) will be hiding an additional 15 books of this month’s selection (on top of the 30) around Tucson over the next week or two. So keep your eyes peeled, as 15 more copies of Never Whistle at Night will be hidden around town! I do not post any hint photos of these books, as they are truly meant to be a random act of kindness for those who happen upon them. Yay for random bookish joy and delight!

Our selection for December will be the perfect read for those short winter days and long winter nights. So keep an eye out here, on Instagram, and on our Facebook page for updates.
