Hi friends, we have an exciting announcement! Tomorrow (Thursday, August 8), we are collaborating with the Santa Cruz River Farmers Market to help them celebrate National Farmers Market Week! What is better than fresh local produce along with some fun foodie-themed reads?
We’ll be hiding 8 books at the market, which opens at 4pm and runs until 7pm. We will be hiding the following books (pictured above and listed here):
- Three copies of Animal, Vegetable, Miracle by former Tucsonan Barbara Kingsolver
- Three copies of Notes from a Young Black Chef by Kwame Onwuachi (one of the gnomes had the pleasure of eating at Kith/Kin in DC when he was there, and it was PHENOMENAL), and
- Two copies of High on the Hog by Jessica B. Harris (and is the basis for the Netflix Docuseries High on the Hog: How African American Cuisine Transformed America).
We hope you’ll join us to support our local food systems AND (maybe?) find a fun new read 🙂
