We’re only in the second month of 2024 (hello, February!), and the good news keeps coming!

We’re excited to announce that we’ve been awarded an $800 “Downtown Tucson For Everyone” grant through the Downtown Tucson Partnership’s Social Justice Committee! This program awards grants to events and programs presented in Downtown Tucson that demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion – and reach underserved communities. Thank you to the Downtown Tucson Partnership and HSL Properties for sponsoring this program and supporting our program!

Although we’re not a traditional event or program, we are so excited and grateful that the Social Justice Committee recognized our work in bringing diverse literature (and attracting folks to our beautiful downtown!) by sharing and hiding books. We’ll be using these resources to help offset the costs of the books (10 per month!) that we’ll be hiding throughout downtown Tucson – – – February through June 2024! That’s right: 10 of our 30 hidden books each month (starting with our February book-hiding this weekend and running through June!) will be hidden downtown (folks, the hints don’t get much better than that, LOL).

So, if you’ve been looking for an excuse to come downtown, visit some local businesses, and view our gorgeous public art, take this as your sign!

And, with this amazing grant, we are even closer to meeting our 2024 fundraising goal. We only need to raise ~$1,300 to meet our goal!!! Will you help us get there? We’d love to have this wrapped up by the end of February – – – to be set up for success for the remainder of the year would (honestly!) bring us tears of joy 🙂 Thank you for sticking with us!
