Sharing Book Joy: How to Help on Giving Tuesday!

Friends and supporters –

I know this post (and the email that our subscribers get about this post!) will probably get lost in the onslaught of Giving Tuesday donation requests that everyone undoubtedly is receiving (ha, I know my inbox was full of donation requests this morning!), but I hope that perhaps a few of you might read this and be moved to help us keep our fundraising momentum going

If you’re not familiar with Giving Tuesday, it’s a generosity movement built in response to the consumerism that takes place in the days immediately following the Thanksgiving holiday in the US (Black Friday, Cyber Monday, etc.). The goal of Giving Tuesday is to “unleash the power of radical generosity around the world,” reimagining a world built upon shared humanity and generosity.

As a nonprofit rooted in giving back to our community through random acts of bookish kindness, Giving Tuesday’s mission is deeply aligned with our own. We launched a fundraising campaign on our two-year anniversary back in September, hoping to raise $10K to fund our book-hiding and book-sharing efforts through 2024. You can read more about what we’re fundraising for (and why!) here: https://tucsontomegnome.com/2023/09/13/two-year-tome-gnomeiversary-fundraising-for-2024/

Look at all the happy book people!

And you can read our first update on how it’s been going here: https://tucsontomegnome.com/2023/11/08/2024-fundraising-update/

Even more happy book people!

I’m writing today with another update: We still have a long way to go to meet our goal, but we remain hopeful as we’re nearly halfway to our goal of raising $10K!

DONATE NOW!

Words can’t express how grateful we are to all of you for stepping up and helping us. All of you (and your trust in us to share the joy of books and reading with our community!) mean the world to us.

If you’ve been on the fence and haven’t yet donated, please consider doing so, especially today, on Giving Tuesday. And, don’t forget that anyone who gives $100 or more to our fundraiser will be entered to win some really lovely bookish gifts from local businesses and partners.

DONATE NOW

Or, if you’re not able to donate at this time, we hope you’ll share this fundraiser with others in our community who care about spreading joy through books and reading. Being a connector and amplifier is also incredibly helpful!!! Our bookish community is so beautiful and supportive – it blows us away ❤

You all are the best. Thank you.

-Emily, Jody, and Mary Ellen-
