Friends! It you missed seeing our roundup reel on Instagram earlier this week, then you may not know that last Thursday, September 28, New York Times best-selling author (and Tucson Tome Gnome founding board member!) TJ Klune joined us in Tucson for a presentation and book-hiding event with Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital’s Stroke and Brain Injury Support Group! We hid books for patients, caregivers, and staff, talked about the Tome Gnome, and Emily & TJ shared some personal stories of their experiences as caregivers to partners who had suffered from brain injuries.

Being able to join and be in community with an amazing group of people doing the incredibly difficult work of recovery was so meaningful and special for all of us. We are so happy we were able to do this, and so incredibly grateful that TJ was able to join us for this event and spend so much time chatting with folks afterwards – it was a really lovely morning!

We would love to be able to do more events like this in 2024!!!! BUT, we can’t do any of this without your amazing financial support and generosity. Nearly a month ago we launched our fundraising campaign for next year’s (2024) programs and book-hiding adventures. So if you’re feeling generous and want to see more of these kinds of events happening in Tucson, please consider donating! We are so grateful for all your support. THANK YOU!
DONATE NOW TO KEEP THE BOOK JOY GOING IN 2024!
PS: We also used this chance to have our first IN-PERSON Tome Gnome board meeting – it was so fun! Look how happy we are! We were so excited to be together that we barely took any photos, LOL. We lived in – and for – the moment! Until next time, read on 🙂
